Scott Bugbird "I was born in 1966 and grew up in Melbourne with my grandmother, parents and two younger brothers. In 1987 I met my partner, Tracey and we spent a number of yeas traveling together, both overseas and within Australia.
Eventually we made our home on the Bunarong coastline and are now lucky enough to share our lives with two beautiful children, Sheona and Callum. A trip to Europe ten years ago rekindled my passion for the visual arts and prompted me to pick up a paint brush for the first time since childhood. I have worked with acrylics, watercolour, charcoal, ink and various printmaking and sculpture techniques. Rather than develop a signature style however, I have pursued my need for experimentation and my enjoyment of mixing media and combining techniques.
My work is an emotional and spiritual response to my personal experiences of humanity and of our environment, and of the connections we share as individuals with each other and the world around us.
At times I attempt to produce work that is confronting, bold and graphic with the desire to create an immediate and powerful emotional response within the viewer. On other occasions more subtle work is produced encouraging exploration and meditation".
