Like many designers, beading is just something that crept into my art work.
I have been exhibiting my watercolour and pastel paintings quite successfully over the past twelve years. It has only been recently that I began getting into design seriously. I find that working with beads has the same effect as a therapeutic beach walk. I look forward to the time that I spend designing and creating new pieces with a range of sparkling beads, silver and pearls in a range of stunning colours.
The beads that I use are from a range of countries and suppliers. Travelling to Vietnam and Singapore, New Zealand and Indonesia, I have been fortunate to source suppliers in these locations. As well, contacts in Hong Kong and China have recently added some interesting hand painted porcelain and chunks of turquoise to my collection.
I believe creativity is a real gift. I consider myself fortunate to have the ability and interest, opportunity and support of family and friends to enable me to follow my dreams. Sometimes it's hard work, but mostly exciting, fun and never boring. I hope you will visit the gallery and enjoy the results.
