FAREWELL TO COALFIELDS ART GALLERY On 31st July 2009 Coalfields Art Gallery closed as the building was no longer available to the artists. I would sincerely like to thank all the wonderfully creative people who became the life and soul of the gallery, whether it was by producing great artworks, taking part in creative workshops, providing work for exhibitions or even just calling in for coffee and a chat with the artists. Thank you also to the many people who were regular visitors to the exhibitions and who added our top local artists to their collections through purchasing their work, often on more than one occasion making multiple purchases. I will certainly miss the buzz and excitement of constantly changing exhibitions and I will miss all the great people I have met. Hopefully you will keep in touch. It is time now for me to dust off my easel and get back to painting, so if you see me on the beach or in the bush please come and say hello. In the meantime please enjoy the photos from the "wake" we held to say goodbye to Coalfields Gallery. kind regards Janice Orchard |
